RELEASE DATE FRIDAY 19TH APRIL 2019

AVAILABLE TO PRE-ORDER 11TH APRIL 2019!

DD 005A Sam Dees ‘What’s It Gonna Be’
DD 005B Sam Dees ‘Tag Tag’

The latest 45 is another superb double-sider that Diggin’ Deep are extremely proud to be able to bring to you.

Two tremendous Soul sides, each with a different flavour, though both are classic ‘Southern Soul’ tracks, emanating from the legendary Sound of Birmingham Studios, Alabama, USA.

The topside of this latest release is a title from the classic ‘The Show Must Go On’ LP. This particular cut was edited for a single release, which never saw the light of day on vinyl, that is until now.

The record has been a dancefloor smash for a very long time. DJ’s who have enjoyed playing the track from the LP over the years will treasure this fabulous DJ / Radio edit on vinyl 45.

On the flipside is the demo of Sam Dees stunning Soul ballad, ‘Tag Tag’ written for Bill Brandon on Piedmont Records back in ‘76. This is yet another gem previously unreleased on vinyl until now.

This exclusive Diggin’ Deep issue is its first ever release as a single and is out now for a very limited time on one of our special edition vinyl 45’s.

Both Sides are written by Sam Dees and are a testament to this artist’s undoubted and wide-ranging talent.

Diggin’ Deep are extremely honoured to be able to bring you these recordings and plans for more from Sam Dees are on the horizon.

Please take a few minutes to listen to the promotional video. We hope you’ll agree, this great double-header is a 45 that every Soul fan will want to have in their collection.

The DD005 collector’s release is a limited pressing @ just £12 each plus postage and packing.

DD 004A  Sir Ted Ford ‘I Can’t Give You Up’
DD 004B Sir Ted Ford ‘I Can’t Give You Up’

The latest 45 is an astounding double-sider that Diggin’ Deep are extremely proud to be able to bring to you.

Two tremendous Soul sides, each with a different flavour, though both are classic ‘Muscle Shoals’ tracks, emanating from the legendary FAME studios, Muscle Shoals Alabama, USA.

To try to describe the topside of the new 45, entitled quite simply ‘Right Now’ I don’t think we’ll be able to really do it justice, except to say it’s without doubt the best unreleased, unheard, Southern soul dancer we’ve encountered in years.

‘Right Now’ by Sir Ted Ford is the type of sound that ticks all the right boxes and will be sought after by collectors of Northern, Crossover and Southern Soul alike! It’s really that good.

This exclusive Diggin’ Deep issue is its first ever release in any format and is out now for a very limited time on one of our special edition vinyl 45’s.

For the flipside we have chosen to release Sir Ted’s killer blue soul opus ‘I Can’t Give You Up’. Long regarded as a Deep Soul classic, this vocal tour de force was only ever made available on the small Budd label, released some 50 years ago. To many it’s the epitome of Muscle Shoals Deep Soul and recorded (as with the topside) at Rick Hall’s Fame Studios in 1969. The backing is provided by the famous ‘Swampers’ and we are sure it will leave all true music fans breathless, behind the tortured and ‘heart wrenching’ vocal of Sir Ted Ford.

Both Sides are written by Sir Ted Ford and are a testament to this artist’s undoubted and wide-ranging talent.

Diggin’ Deep are honoured to be able to bring you these recordings and are planning more from Sir Ted Ford, later in the year.

Please take a few minutes to listen to the promotional video. We hope you’ll agree, this is a 45 that every Soul fan will want to have in their collection.

DD004 collector’s release is a limited pressing @ just £12 each plus postage and packing.

Avoid Disappointment. Pre-order now, while stocks last.
Note: Only one copy per person. First come, first served.

DD 003A  Tony Borders “Promise To Myself”
DD 003B  Bill Brandon “Rainbow Road”

Our newest 45 is a double sider that Diggin’ Deep are extremely proud to be able to bring to you.

Two stunning sides, each with a very different flavour, though both are classic ‘Muscle Shoals’ soul tracks, emanating from Quin Ivy’s famous Quinvy Sound Studio in Sheffield, Alabama, USA.

“Promise To Myself” is a side which has received huge appreciation for many years, at the most discerning soul music venues, worldwide. Copies are in the hands of the very few, and there simply aren’t enough to go around. This exclusive Diggin’ Deep issue is its first release in almost 40 years. Out now for a very limited time on vinyl 45.

The flipside is an epic tale, long regarded as a true Deep Soul masterpiece.

We are honoured to be able to bring you Bill Brandon’s absolutely colossal ‘Rainbow Road’ as the latest addition to our catalogue. It’s an anthemic tale of poverty, fame, and tragedy, penned by Donnie Fritts and Dan Penn and understood to have been written for Arthur Alexander – although Brandon’s is the original released version.

We are sure this double sider will be a welcome issue for lovers of the deeper side of soul – and be seen as a fitting tribute to the legendary Sheffield studio, Quinvy.

Both sides are now available on a beautifully mastered 45 for the first time in over 40 years.

DD003 collector’s release is a limited pressing @ just £12 each plus postage and packing.

Avoid Disappointment. Pre-order now, while stocks last.
Note: Only one copy per person. First come, first served.

DD 002A  C J & Co ‘Let Them Talk”
DD 002B  Joe Matthews ‘What Every Little Girl Needs

Our second release is a real turn up for the books. Who would have thought, a stunningly soulful release from such doyens of the US DISCO scene, CJ & Co, ably supported on the flipside by the legendary Joe Matthews.

The ‘A’ side is a fabulous mid-tempo, 70’s soul stepper from C J & Co, produced by Mike Theodore and Dennis Coffey. A killer modern soul track which has received massive appreciation wherever it’s been played during the past 12 months. It’s a ‘slipping around’ love song with a fabulous hook that will grab everyone from the get go. And the vocals are absolutely superb! All who have heard it agree, it’s uncanny that something of this quality could have shown up some 40 years after it was recorded. We believe that “Let Them Talk” will become a massive dancefloor favourite on this, its very first issue in any format, anywhere in the world! Out now for a very limited time on vinyl 45.

The ‘B’ side is different gravy, but has the same quality Detroit pedigree. As a Westbound soul release it is such a rare record that its actual existence is open to debate. The release number for the single is documented as Westbound 146 but we’re pretty certain that it never came out. It actually had a ZTSC matrix number against it, which means that its manufacture was ordered and the pressing plant allocated the number, but until now, this mystery single has never appeared. It’s a fabulous ‘crossover soul’ track of the highest order and something that every Detroit Soul fan must have in the collection. Now that it’s finally obtainable on Diggin’ Deep Records!

Both sides are now available on a beautifully mastered 45 for the very first time.

This collector’s release is a limited pressing @ just £12 each plus postage and packing.

Avoid Disappointment. Pre-order now, while stocks last.
Note: Only one copy per person. First come, first served.

DD 001A  Willie Walker ‘Two Paces Ahead Of Love”
DD 001B  Barbara Brown ‘It Hurts Me So Much’

Our first release joins together two stalwarts of the Southern Soul scene, stemming from Sounds of Memphis records.

The ‘A’ side is a scorching mid-tempo, Deep Soul stepper from the legendary Willie Walker. A ‘crossover soul’ track which has already proven itself on the floor at such progressive venues as Soul Essence and Diggin’ Deep. We believe that “Two Paces Ahead Of Love” will become a firm dancefloor favourite on its very first vinyl issue.

Flip it over and we present the most stunning Deep Soul ballad from Barbara and the Browns. This track has long been revered by the Deep Soul fraternity and “It Hurts Me So Much” is considered by many to be one of the finest unissued ‘Deepies’ to come out of Memphis!

Both sides are now available on a beautifully mastered 45 for the very first time.

This collector’s release is a limited pressing @ just £12 each plus postage and packing.

Avoid Disappointment. Pre-order now, while stocks last.
Note: Only one copy per person. First come, first served.
